Pizza Pie

I absolutely LOVE when I get requests on making my follower's favorite foods "healthified" for them. Although, we do have a great way to eat pizza with my, oh so famous PIZZA SOUP. I have decided to take it yet another step and make your old time favorite pizza just a tad healthier.


It is Friday in our house and that usually means Pizza and Popcorn. Since I was just on a 21 day mind body cleanse this is my FIRST FRIDAY in almost a month I am going to engage in our Friday family fav's. Of course, we could have just have the trusted Aldi frozen cheese pizza, per the usual. However, I thought this week we could take it up a notch and make it a little healthier!


I have kind of been out of the kitchen lately as I was cleansing and working out of the home a little more than normal. This week I decided to dedicate an entire day to cooking and baking. Let me tell you, I came up with some amazing recipes, if I do say so myself!

Here is just one of the many creations this week that I will be sharing with you as the weeks go!


RECIPE: PIZZA PIE

12 Tortilla Shells

1 pound of Venison (or other meat)

1 carton of Mushroom

1 jar of Spaghetti Sauce

16 oz Cottage Cheese

1 can Stewed Tomatoes

1 C cubed Zucchini

1 C riced cauliflower

2 C shredded mozzarella


Preheat the oven at 375 degrees. Start to brown your meat on stove. You will need two nonstick pie tins. Cover the pans with your shells. 6 on each to make the pie “crust”. Once your meat has browned you can drain excess grease. Put the pan back on medium heat and add the mushrooms, cauliflower and zucchini to this. Cook those vegetables down until tender. Add your jar of sauce and stir until all seems fully coated. Add the mixture into two pie pans evenly. Top each ‘pie” with half of the tomatoes, 1 cup of cottage cheese and last 1 cup of shredded mozzarella. Bake for 35 minutes or until golden brown.
